Cindy
Female
dog
Age: 2 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Cindy has had a hard life, one where she was originally ignored for the most part. After a few months in rescue, she has learned to enjoy petting and affection from people. The day of her photos and video was the first day she and I had ever met. She was obviously nervous with a new person in her midst. But, she allowed me to pet her, walk her, and take her picture.
Cindy is about 2 years old, spayed, vaccinated, housebroken, and ready for a calm and loving home. She enjoys the company of other dogs and walks on-leash. She bonds with and loves her people very much.
This dog is currently in foster in Mexico and will be until foster/adoption and transport arrangements can be made to Texas.

Dulce
Female
dog
Age: 3 1/2 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Dulce was found at the entrance to a very exclusive subdivision outside of San Miguel de Allende. She was the usual, matted, dirty, skinny little dog we see so often. But all that is behind this little girl.
Dulce is approximately 3 1/2 years old, weighs 12 lbs., is VERY affectionate, gentle and loving. She is good with other dogs but will try to be the center of attention if allowed. She is housebroken and very good on leash. She would be fine with children and other dogs. Not good with cats as she gets great pleasure from chasing them. She would be an outstanding 'dog park' dog! Dulce has experienced some physical trauma. She has had broken ribs which have healed but you can feel are 'not quite right' and she has a head trauma. There is a scar on the right side of her temple and she occasionally will move her jaw in an uncoordinated manner. It quickly subsides. This little dog was either kicked or could possibly have been hit by a car. We will never know.
This dog is currently in foster in Mexico and will be until foster/adoption and transport arrangements can be made to Texas.

Esperanza
Female
dog
Age: 1 1/2 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Esperanza is a very sweet and social, small, female Dalmation weighing approximately 35 lbs. Esperanza loves to run and play with other dogs and is fine with a cat in the home. She is not a hyper dog. She knows how to sit, and has adapted to home living very well. She is quiet in the house and hardly ever barks. This lovely girl is looking for a moderately active home with a fenced yard. A canine companion would suit her just fine.

Louisa
Female
dog
Age: 4 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Louisa, was an owner relinquish due to emergency family health reasons. She was dropped at our local no-kill shelter, the SPA. She has always been a house dog and was not doing well in a shelter environment. So, we decided to bring her into foster care.
She is a gorgeous, four year old, German Shepherd with a sweet and gentle disposition. She’s easy to walk and very calm. She loves people and is happy just being in the same room with her family. She bonds quickly to her person/family, a typical shepherd trait.
Louisa is in foster with ten other dogs of all shapes, breeds/mixes, sizes ranging from 3 pounds up to 80 pounds and she is fine. She does need slow and controlled introductions so as not to overwhelm her. She is not interested in a playing or interacting with other dogs. She would, ideally, like being an only dog or one of two.
Louisa is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, housebroken, and excellent on leash. In other words, PERFECT!
This dog is currently in foster in Mexico and will be until foster/adoption and transport arrangements can be made to Texas.
Speckles
Female
dog
Age: 8 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Spayed female, 8 years, 55 pounds, Lab X
Speckles is a senior dog that is seeking a home with a quiet individual who wants a constant companion. Speckles will follow you everywhere and really wants all the attention. For this reason we recommend she not be in a home with another dog as she is very possessive of her human and her food! She is just learning how to walk with a leash as it appears this poor old girl never did go for walks. She is very submissive with humans and it appears she had probably been beaten, as she cowers at your feet regularly. Speckles is waiting for her final home where she can live the rest of her years with love and be safe in a warm cozy home.

Waylon
Male
dog
Age: 7 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Waylon is the dog version of the singer! He is mellow, laid-back, and very country. His idea of happiness is a day of sleep punctuated with a bit of play with another dog or a short walk or two with his person and plenty of rest in between.
Waylon is housebroken and good on leash. He is an easy dog for someone who does not want a dog that requires a lot of fuss. He is estimated to be about 7 years old, has been neutered, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. He's ready to go!

Bella Star
Female
dog
Age: About One Year
I-20 Animal Medcial Center
My name is Bella Star and I have been rescued by a wonderful client. I am boarding at I-20 Animal Medical Center until I find a really good home. I am a very sweet, very loving, very young female dog (spayed). I am not a pure bred and seem to have a little of many breeds in me but that doesn't keep me from dreaming of a loving family. I do have some Pit Bull but please don't hold that against me. I have been rescued from the Garland Animal Shelter and now I am just hanging around waiting for the right family. I love the kennel techs here at I-20 and absolutely love belly rubs. If you give me a chance to prove myself, I will be so excited and I promise to be the best dog ever! Love, Bella Star
Mia
Female
dog
Age: 1 1/2 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
-Mia has a gentle temperament, and a stubborn streak. [She doesn't come on every recall and needs reinforced training.]
-She is completely housebroken, spayed and up to date on her shots.
-She prefers to be outdoors, so a fenced in yard is a must.
-She's excellent with most other dogs.
-She's wonderful with kids.
-She's a great watch dog. Mia 'alerts', but there is no such thing as excessive barking.
-She meets strangers warily, but is fine when she knows everything is okay.
-She has some food guarding issues, so if there's another dog in the house they should be fed separately.
-In the house Mia is absolutely tranquil. She'll lie at her person's feet in perfect contentment. No unnecessary barking!
-She has the 'soft mouth' of a Spaniel. That means she'll take food from your hand quite delicately, and kiss gently. (I think this is one of her most delightful characteristics.)
-She is a Chow mix with fabulous fur, the broad musculature of that breed, and a thick ruff and skirt. Very pretty girl of about 1 1/2 years!
This dog is in foster in Mexico. She will be transported to Texas once a foster or adoptive home has been located.
Tripod Jack
Male
dog
Age: 1 1/2 years
Save a Mexican Mutt (SAMM)
Jack was rescued after being hit by a car. He had an initial surgery to repair his pelvis and reset his hind leg. Unfortunately, he never regained use of the leg and it atrophied and the paw became raw and infected. A second surgery was performed to removed the leg. So, Jackie is a tripod. He gets around better now than when he still had the leg but no use of it. He is a typical Border Collie - almost too smart for his own good. He wants to inspect everything you are doing, he wants to herd and protect his flock/people, he does not understand or care about 'tone of voice' correction, he does respond extremely well to food based rewards. Jack loves to play with a tennis ball and will retrieve and will play alone with the ball. He will be fine with older, respectful children and LOVES and needs another dog to play with. Jack is also good with cats. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. We estimate Jack to be about 1 1/2 years old and weighs 30 lbs.
